PICKERING — United Boxing Promotions presents an electric six-fight professional boxing card at one of Ontario’s premier venues, the sold-out Pickering Casino Resort, on December 2. Former WBO World Title Challenger Brandon ‘Bad Boy’ Cook headlines against two-division Mexican champion Luis ‘Coto’ Vidales, with seven other national-level champions from across the globe also set to feature. The event will be available worldwide on PPV at UNITEDPROMOTIONS.TV, live and on demand.

Sukhdeep ‘Chakria’ Singh will be gunning for a statement knockout victory in the Co-Main Event, while Jamaican knockout specialists Ricardo ‘Big 12’ Brown (100% KO rate) and Kemahl ‘The Hitman’ Russell (81%) will each look to steal the show.

An all-Canadian women’s contest between Melinda ‘The Whip’ Watpool and Natasha ‘The Nightmare’ Spence promises major fireworks.

Undefeated local product Evan Gillard fights on the opening attraction.

BRANDON COOK VS. LUIS VIDALES (MAIN EVENT)

10 ROUNDS, SUPER WELTERWEIGHT.
Two men with nearly a half-century of professional wins between them will collide in the 10-round super welterweight Main Event, as Brandon ‘Bad Boy’ Cook (25-2, 17 KO) faces Luis Vidales (24-9, 10 KO) in a contest which could launch the winner onto the world stage.

Four of the former WBO World Title Challenger Cook’s last five fights have ended in knockout wins; Vidales is a former two-division Mexican Champion.

SUKHDEEP SINGH VS. YASER YUKSEL (CO-FEATURE)

8 ROUNDS, SUPER WELTERWEIGHT.

The top Punjab fighter in the world returns to action in front of his legion of fans, as reigning IBO Asia Pacific Super Welterweight Champion Sukhdeep ‘Chakria’ Singh (16-0, 6 KO) squares up with reigning Turkish champion Yaser Yuksel (15-6-1, 5 KO).

Singh is aiming for his fourth win of 2023, while Yuksel is fresh off a two-belt championship win in Istanbul.

RICARDO BROWN VS. JOZSEF DARMOS

8 ROUNDS, HEAVYWEIGHT.

Knockout hunter and Jamaican Olympian Ricardo ‘Big 12’ Brown (9-0, 9 KO) takes aim at his toughest hide yet, against former Hungarian Champion Jozsef ‘The Gladiator’ Darmos (14-6-3, 10 KO).

All of Brown’s contests have ended prior to the third-round bell, while 61 per cent of Darmos’s career outings have also ended in stoppages.

KEMAHL RUSSELL VS. RAFAEL ORTIZ

8 ROUNDS, MIDDLEWEIGHT.

World-level middleweight contenders collide as former North American Champion Kemahl ‘The Hitman’ Russell (15-1, 13 KO) takes on reigning Mexican Champion Rafael ‘El Iraki’ Ortiz (16-5-1, 9 KO).

Russell stole the show in Pickering on Sep. 9, when he floored Juan Carlos Raygosa twice and stopped him inside four rounds — firing up the crowd in the process.

Ortiz has a strong resume and is looking to bounce back from a sixth-round February defeat to reigning IBO World Champion Etinosa Oliha in Germany.

MELINDA WATPOOL VS. NATASHA SPENCE

6 ROUNDS, SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT.

Undefeated Pefferlaw product Melinda ‘The Whip’ Watpool (4-0, 2 KO) will face a significant step-up in competition with an all-Canadian contest against former World Title Challenger Natasha ‘The Nightmare’ Spence (8-3-2, 6 KO).

Watpool, the fourth-ranked contender in the world by the WBA, has looked solid in three 2023 appearances.

Spence, who fought for the WBO and WBA World Super Welterweight titles in 2017, is returning to professional boxing after a significant layoff — but remains a dangerous power threat.

EVAN GILLARD VS. SERGIO REBOLLEDO

8 ROUNDS, FLYWEIGHT.

Undefeated Oshawa flyweight Evan Gillard (5-0-1, 1 KO) fights on home turf for the first time since 2019, as he tangles with Sergio ‘Furioso’ Rebolledo (4-3, 1 KO) in an eight-round contest.
